It has come to my attention that others are also having problems with there 5150 laptops. Here are some links that might interest you:

I should also note that I got my 5150 back in August of 2004 and I still use it every day and I have not had any problems. This obviously does not affect all laptops. The best advise I can give you is to get the best warranty that you can afford because with all elecronics there is no way to know when it will go bad.

Hello, I have a 5150 that I got a little while ago, back in Feburary i had the motherboard replaced for a failed power connector and since it is soldered directly to the motherboard that is the only solution. Has anyone esle run across this and found a replacement connector. I let my warrenty contract expire so now they want big bucks for a new mother board again, even though the defective parts could be only a few dollars.

Thank you for your time.
