It's Server, not Service. It is a new Operating System. What is does is back up all the computers on your network every night. Because I have backups of all my computers, getting a clean install of Windows is as easy as restoring a backup. I did a review of Windows Home server here. I also did a walk through on how to build a server here and here. However, since you are a novice I recommend that you buy a prebuilt machine like the HP MediaSmart. If you have more questions about this ask it on one of the other review pages. To answer your other question, no I have never heard of that hard drive.

Where can I find Windows Home Service? Is that from the website of windows itself? Please mind me, coz I’m still relatively a novice when it comes to computer software. By the way, are you familiar with Buffalo Ministation Lite which is an extenal hard disk drive. I’m planning to buy one since its shockproof?

If you install and uninstall a lot of programs then they are good for cleaning up the residue that those programs leave behind. I don’t personally use them because I like to do a clean install of Windows at least once a year. I use a Windows Home Server so this process is very easy.

So what is really the best antivirus program that has it all (firewall, anti spam, all malware protection, antispyware, constant updates)? Is it Malwarebyte? Super Antispyware? Iobit Security 360? Spyware Doctor? ESET Smart Security? BitDefender? Webroot?

Hermitbiker, I’ve tried Kaspersky also. Guess what, it slowed down my laptop. Same with Trend Micro, it also slowed. Most of my friends say that Kaspersky is not built for laptop use, its only for PC. Other antivirus programs I’ve tried are AVG though was good at first then it sucked. I also tried Avira, then Avast which is good. Right now I’m using ESET Smart Security, which so far for me is the best antivirus program. I’ve looked in the internet for the top 10 Antivirus Programs. Number 1 was BitDefender, number 2 was Kaspersky, number 3 Webroot, number 4 Norton, number 5 ESET NOD 32 Antivirus, Number 6 AVG, 7 F-Secure Anti-Virus, 8 G DATA AntiVirus, 9. Avira Antivir, and 10. Trend Micro.According to that site Kaspersky costs 59.95 dollars. The cheapest in the top 10 Antivirus Programs of 2009 was G DATA AntiVirus and BitDefender.

@KV, I’ve used Kaspersky Internet Security 2009…. loved it…. $80 price I did not like !! After a while though, I thought it made my “old” laptop run way slower…. I wondered if you heard anybody else think like that about the product !!

I don’t have experience with those other programs. Normally you should have any trouble running multiple spyware programs, unless you are trying to run them all at the same time. I have 2 or 3 on my computer and I set them to run at different times so they don’t conflict or bog down the system.

So far I have no problem with Uniblue Spyeraser. My question is if i use both Uniblue Spyeraser + Malwarebytes + Advanced SystemCare 3 + ESET NOD32 Antivirus, will they collide? I need help. Thanks.

umm, the bottom line is get the trial version and test. but i suggest that get KASPERSK INTERNET SECURITY 2009 PLUS SUPERANTISPYWARE PROFESSONAL AND MALWAREBYTES ANTI-MALWARE. if you think there would ba conflict, well there’s none its 0% conflict. IT’S THE BEST LAYER OF PROTECTION! so try it and be cruel to the viruses

I bought the Uniblue SpyEraser. But I am disgusted. You pay for one thing but then it prompts you to download and pay for other Uniblue products or your computer won’t be safe. I don’t know where it all ends. I thought I bought what I needed but I guess not. I am not paying anymore for this product. As far as I am concerned I paid for a lot of nothing. never again.

Although I cannot speak about SpyEraser I can speak about other Uniblue products that I do use. I have and continue to use 4 products with no problems and continued confidence. These are DiskRescue and PowerSuite(contains SpeedUpMyPC, DriverScanner and RegistryBooster).

I can see a real improvement in my laptop since switching to the Uniblue product line, I am very satisfied so far !!

I also use SpywareDoctor and I am very pleased with it’s performance too !!

I’ve used Kaspersky Internet Security with no problems and was quite satisfied, but it seemed to slow my laptop down either real or imagined.

I have also used PCTools products similar to some of Uniblue’s products was satisfied until I test-drove Uniblue.

Just thought I’d voice my opinion on products I have tried !!

Thank you for that information. I downloaded a trial version of that software and tested it against several other spyware programs. I will attach a screen shot below so you can see my results. It looks like Spyware Doctor found the most spyware. Spybot found two threats and both Windows Defender and SpyEraser did not find anything. As you can see I did not have any High priority spyware so I don’t know how they would differ. My recommendation is to download a trial of any program you are considering buying and see works best in your situation.

By the way, 8.2 out of 10 is far from perfect.

It’s amazing guys how an ordinary person like me used the product and quickly found out how poor it is, while a “review” done by specialized people rates it perfect.
But to answer your questions, I used SpywareDoctor which found a bunch of spyware not previously detected and some of them where high-risk. I do not wish to promote their product and I wouldnt have mentioned them if you hadnt asked.
As for the exact spyware not found, I do not remember them, I only remember the count, which stroke me on the head. But if you really want “to make it better”, it’s your job to find out what is detected and what is not.

Thank you for your comments, but your comments are a bit harsh, especially since you don’t provide any proof. I hope you wil be willing to provide more information about your findings.

You said that Spyeraser did not find 26 AdWare, I assume you used another program to find them. What program did you use? and which Adware did Spyeraser not find? If you can provide this information then we can prove your assertions and possibly help make Spyeraser better.

I bought Spyeraser and however professional it looks, its performance is totally poor. I had a total of 26 adware infections at the time it was assuring me I was safe….I only joined this forum to warn u off this product guys. And I hope u do the same if u happen to buy an equally horrible product…
