The first day of CES 2008 is now over. I spent the whole day at The Sands expo center. There I was able to see a wide variety of products. Some you will recognize from reviews I have done in the past. For example, I saw LaserShield, C.Crane, and Genius. I also saw many companies that I have never spoken to before. These companies include Adesso, Bogen, Liteon, Touchless, Switchback, Lian Li, and many more.
Probably the weirdest thing I did was go by the Aok Alimtox booth and get a cleanse. The cleanse consisted of putting my feet in a bowl of water and the have their device draw out all my poisons. As you can see from the pictures below the water started out clear and progressively got darker and changed colors. These colors are indications of the kinds of poisons that are in a persons body. I am not usually a skeptic, but this one was a little above my head.
One of the best booths I stopped by was the able planet booth. They are a headphones company and they have several cool products. The first one I saw was some IR headphones and a transmitter. When I put them on the sound was great, loud and very clear. The next set of headphones was a set of noise canceling headphones. These headphones not only look like the Bose noise canceling headphones, but they also perform very similarly. To demonstrate the site had an iPod with a headphone splitter on it. One end was plugged into The able planet headphones did not have quite as complete of noise canceling, but the sound that came from them was much louder and defined. The company provided me with several of their headphones, so you can expect a review of them shortly.
After the show we went to the Tiger Direct Build your own PC charity event. This is an event where 30 people try to put together a PC the fastest. The person that finishes first gets to donate the PC they built and a check for $10,000 to the charity of their choice. It was a lot of fun to watch and root for the winner. Unfortunately, I am loosing my voice so I was not able to cheer very loud. To make up for that they has the UNLV cheerleaders on stage to do the cheering for us.
Over all this was a great day. My feet hurt really bad, but a good night rest and massage in the morning should fix all that.
