I recently installed Windows Home Server Power Pack 1 and I thought I would share the experience with you.

After downloading the software to my Home Server I started it up. Everything went smoothly without any problems.

I got warnings that all the connectors needed to be updated. This is a pain because they all have to be done manually.

The Connector software can be downloaded directly from your server.

A new feature will allow the connector to update automatically. This is great because as my network grows I don’t want to do this manually.

Another new feature lets you choose to have your computer wake up when it is time to backup. This is a great feature because you can save power by letting your computer go to sleep and then have it wake up for backups.

The version numbers changed.

Some of my add-ins stopped working, specifically the disk management add-in needs to be upgraded and the tab manager stopped working. I have since uninstalled both.

I am looking forware to trying out some of the new features and I will add a new post as I do. Let me know which new feature you are the most excited about.
