We are NOT Epson so we don't have any records about returns and we do not call people about problems. You should contact Epson support. Others, including myself, have had good luck working with Epson support, it also helps them make the product better when they know the problems their users are having.

I recently purchased an Artisan printer and now it has gone wacky the cd tray will not work nore the screen lock button is not working. I am no longer able to use my printer it just flashes error and prompts me to turn off.I am Very frustrated and not satisfied with the product. I purchased and exchanged 2 times before the 3rd time it finally worked. Check into your records of how many came back for repair at local office max in Smithfield Nc 27577, the first one flashed and would not work second same thing.3rd worked but now its wacky. I love Epson products but this one ah I got a headache. Now I am out of 400 dollar

After a few months of indecisiveness, I finally took the plunge and went for the Artisan 800. I was interested to see the "better than lab quality" prints which are amazingly just that - the colour reproduction is fantastic! Text had been my main concern though and I think I will be buying a cheap laser printer at some point too - slightly annoying really but as you said before, inkjets still have a long way to go on this issue.

I bought the optional duplex unit for my printer which has been a bit of a waste of money. For some reason this only works when the printer is connected by USB, so for a wireless printer it's a bit of a pointless accessory - Epson could have made this clear - I still don't really know why it won't work on a wireless connection. Anyway, on the whole I'm happy, print quality is fantastic but for the standard stuff (black and white prints/copies on standard paper) the printer still has a long way to go in my opinion.

just a correction: Bluetooth is NOT built in - you need to purchase the optional Bluetooth® Photo Print Adapter to connect via Bluetooth.

Hi Ryan,

I enjoyed your review of the Artisan 800 and just wanted to add my recent experience after purchasing one from Mwave.com. I ordered the Artisan 800 on March 11, 2009 and received on the following Friday. In anticipation of receiving their "Flagship Printer" I couldn't wait to try out the Wi-Fi feature. Well as luck would have it the unit was D.O.A.. It registered an error prior to charging the printer with ink. Since Epson support isn't available on the weekends I called them on Monday and got an offer to replace my "New" unit with a refurbished model which didn't set to well with me. I was lucky enough to get a hold of Epson's Customer Relations and after I sent my invoice in showing that the unit was brand new and defective they agreed to send me another new unit in it's place. I am happy to say that the new unit arrived in less than two weeks and it works fine. I did some googling on the hardware issue and found quite a few other units with the new owners complaining of the same hardware issue so it seems to be a quality control problem at the factory. I have been a faithful Epson user for over 15 years and it's a shame that they can't test a printer of this price range well enough to prevent the aggravation of dealing with some outsourced Tech Support individual that speaks poor English at best. Please Epson, improve your quality control at the factory!

I recently had to have my Artisan 800 replaced because the touchscreen lock broke. I contact Epson support and they quickly sent out a replacement. They also paid for return shipping.
Epson also included a full set of Ink with the replacement printer. I thought this was done out of the kindness of their heart, but I later found out that the new printer would not initialize without the new ink. I tried first to install the ink from the old printer, but it kept telling me that they were not correct. Finally after installing the new ink it initialized just fine. After it was all setup I removed the new ink and put in the old and it worked fine. This struck me as a bit odd, but since Epson supplied the new ink I was not going to complain.
