The Asus Eee PC 1000HE touts a 10-inch LED backlit display, chicklet keyboard, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a 160GB hard disk with an additional 10GB of Eee Online storage.

The 1000HE also includes a new chipset and processor. The new processor is the Intel 1.66GHz Atom N280 with a bus speed of 667MHz. This is only marginally faster than the previous processor which was the Intel 1.60GHz Atom N270 with a bus speed of 533MHz.

The biggest upgrade is with battery life. The Asus Eee PC 1000HE includes a very large battery and touts a high-density 8700mAH battery and 9.5 hours of battery life. The 1000HE also takes advantage of  and ASUS’ own Super Hybrid Engine battery conservation technology which makes this the most powerful and longest lasting Eee PC ever.Whether or not we will see 9.5 hours in real life will be determined during testing.

As you can see from the following images the Eee 1000HE includes many of the normal connectors, including: Ethernet, USB, Headphone and Microphone jacks, and SD card slot, and a VGA port. I question the inclusion of the VGA port. Other Netbooks, like the HP mini 1000, have left this off and it has helped to make them a lot smaller. Instead they use a smaller connector that can accept adapters.
