Review: Straight Talk T-Mobile vs AT&T

    by Ryan McLaughlin ~ March 2nd, 2013

I recently bought a LG Nexus 4 and because it is unlocked I wanted to use it on a prepaid phone plan. I had previously been using PagePlus, but because this is not a Verizon phone they do not support it. So I had to find a new carrier. After considering my options I went with Straight Talk because they have unlimited data and talk for just $45 a month. However Straight talk uses either T-Mobile or AT&T and I had to choose one before I could use it

    Review: LG Nexus 4 Phone

    by Ryan McLaughlin ~ December 21st, 2012

The Nexus 4 phone from LG is Google’s latest attempt at showing the world what a Android phone should look like. The big question that everyone has is, does it meet those high expectations? Well, as usual this all depends on what you are looking for

Cell phones have become an important part of our lives and it is necessary to have quick access to them at all times. For this reason, I have been looking for a car mount for my Droid Incredible ever since I got it. Car mounts are a dime a dozen, but finding one that fits my phone without blocking the USB port or buttons was difficult. Then I ran across the Arkon Universal mount. The Arkon Universal mount not only allows access to all the buttons and the USB port on my phone, but it also provides multiple ways to attach it to my car

How and why I rooted my Droid Incredible

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ September 7th, 2010

If you have been following my blog you know that I recently got a Droid Incredible and even more recently upgraded it to Android 2.2 (Froyo). This upgrade has been both bitter and sweet for me. I have enjoyed some of the new functionality provided by the OS, but I have been frustrated by some of the extra apps that Verizon built into their distribution. So I decided to take some action and find a way to get rid of those parts I did not like

Review: Droid Incredible with Android 2.2 (Froyo)

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ August 28th, 2010

As we all know Verizon released the 2.2 software for the Droid Incredible. The rollout was expected to take several days, but because I am impatient I searched the web for a leaked ROM. It took a little while, but I finally found it at XDA-Developers. They were hosting an official installer that had the latest code. I was a little leery about trusting them, but after reading through their forum I was convinced. So I immediately downloaded the software and started the install. It completed without a hitch and here is what I found when it started up

Review: HP Z800 12-core Workstation

by Ryan McLaughlin ~ June 29th, 2010

Just over a year ago I was given the opportunity to review the HP Z800 when it was first released. Back then it was a very powerful workstation with many great qualities that could not be found on any other workstation or desktop. Now a year later HP has made improvements that should help it to be faster, more stable, and less noisy.

Ever since the Droid Incredible was announced I knew that I wanted one. However, I also knew that I would never be happy with the $30 mandatory data fee that Verizon charges. So I set out to find a way to get a Droid Incredible and use it on Verizon’s network without having to pay the extra $30 a month. This post is all about how I accomplished it

Digital picture frames have been around a while, but they have all been dependent on other devices for the pictures. Whether it be a computer, a USB stick, or an SD card every picture they were needed to transfer the pictures onto the frame; that is, until now.  Brookstone has tried to bridge that gap by building a scanner into the iConvert 8″ Digital Frame

How many times have you needed to get access to the contents of a hard drive from a dead computer, and you had to take your working computer apart to attach it? I have had to do this several times and it is a real pain. For this reason I got the Thermaltake BlacX hard drive dock
